Über unser Projekt

Asclepios II, our second analogue mission will take place in the lunar South Pole environment. A crew of six international analogue astronauts will be placed in isolation while conducting experiments and EVAs to explore the challenges of finding water. The mission will take place in the Sasso San Gottardo, a Swiss World War II fortress in the municipality of Airolo.https://asclepios.ch

What is our project about?

Asclepios is the first and only international analogue space mission run by and for students. Our goal is to train the future generations of space leaders whether they wish to be astronauts, space engineers or members of the Mission Control Centre (MCC). It follows that the main objective of Asclepios is Education, carried out through workshops and mission analog training, and by the EPFL Space Centre and other laboratories through semester projects.

In addition, Asclepios enables many laboratories and companies around the world to test prototypes and develop experiments useful for the exploration of the Moon or Mars. As space research has long contributed to our life on Earth, contributing to scientific research can be considered as our secondary objective.

What are our goals and who is our audience?

Our project has 3 main objectives.

The first one is focused on education, through the organisation of workshops and other training of similar missions over a whole year, in collaboration with our partners.
The second main objective is focused on scientific projects. Indeed, our platform allows various laboratories around the world to test their prototypes that could prove useful for future explorations of the Moon and Mars. Finally, our last project objective is to inspire the younger generation, through engaged communication.

Why should someone support our project?

Our project aims to train and educate the leaders of tomorrow. By sponsoring it, you are helping to build a promising future and to promote the field of space exploration in Switzerland and internationally. Sponsoring space research also contributes to long-term improvement of our life on earth.

How is the donated money being invested if the project is funded successfully?

Your sponsorship will be used to cover the travel and accommodation costs of the students to the mission control center, located not far from our lunar base at the Sasso San Gottardo in the Swiss Alps.

Funding threshold
This sum will allow us to cover the travel costs of the astronauts and all the organising members from their place of residence to the lunar base at Sasso San Gottardo in the Swiss Alps.

Financial goal
This sum will also allow us to cover the accommodation costs of the organising team, as well as part of the food.

Mindestbetrag

Who stands behind the project?

The Asclepios Mission is a non-profit project, organised by an international group of students based in Lausanne.
